Whether that dream is designing, engineering and prototyping a new architectural feature or preserving and replicating an old one. ADC turns hand-made originals, scale models and artistic representations into a digital record that can be scaled, repaired, altered and remodeled. Restoration companies rely on ADC to preserve old architectural works and help reproduce them.
MAAD application requirements

GM’s advanced design team focuses on developing concept and future mobility projects that fall outside the scope of existing production vehicle programs. Creating alternative mobility applications can reveal opportunities for transformative innovation and help influence future GM products and services, while exploring new growth opportunities for the company. The MAAD Digital Craft concentration focuses on contemporary digital design technologies and digital craft. You’ll get both broad and in-depth exposure to contemporary topics such as parametric design, advanced computation, digital fabrication, robotic techniques, and building information modeling. During your first semester, you’ll develop a specific research trajectory. You’ll integrate digital design concepts with fabrication and prototyping tools in your second semester to realize a full-scale project.

Being selected for an interview doesn’t indicate applicant status or increase or decrease an applicant’s chances of being admitted into their desired graduate program. Interviews are conducted at the program’s discretion and are used to gain more insight into an application. Equity, ecological vitality, and economic resilience are reimagined through urban and territory scaled analysis, narratives, and arguments. The Digital Craft Lab features experimental making through emerging technologies, teaching you about advanced computation, robotics, responsive environments, rapid prototyping, and more. PASADENA (CBSLA) — General Motors plans to spend $71 million on building a new, 149,000-square-foot campus in Pasadena, the automotive company announced Tuesday.
HGTV Designers challenge winner
The studio, one of three Honda maintains in the Los Angeles area, was previously located in Pasadena, Calif., and is expanding the scope of its responsibilities, taking on a lead role within Honda R&D's global advanced automobile design activity. ADC has consistently assisted the automotive and racing industries with all aspects of a vehicle. Through efficient design and light-weighting components to inspecting the components to meet crucial tolerances.
The facility will make room for expanded advanced technology teams that will help accelerate GM’s goal of zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion. About Honda R&D Americas, Inc.Honda R&D Americas, Inc. (HRA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Honda R&D Co., Ltd., the research and development arm of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. HRA began its operations in California in 1976, as Honda Research California, with a focus on local market research activities. The company has steadily grown its local footprint and capabilities over the past 36 years to include all aspects of new vehicle design and development.
The announcement of the technology campus in Pasadena is part of GM Design’s broader global expansion. GM’s new Design West facility is currently under construction at the Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan, and GM recently announced the expansion of the Advanced Design Center in Shanghai, China. "In addition to styling, we'll be looking at changing consumer lifestyles and attitudes, and the multitude of other factors that will impact our designs of the future."

Ms. Atchley was professional, knowledgeable and extremely talented and able to help us with design, tile, paint, countertop choices, etc. She was there on a VERY regular basis to oversee her subcontractors, who were polite, respectful and, most of all, very skilled workers. Cindy responded to phone calls and all questions in a very timely fashion. Her estimate was on target, her allotments for tile, lighting, counters, etc were very generous and she always used high quality products.
Her taste is impeccable-you are not only getting a first-rate contractor in Cindy, but a wonderfully talented designer as well! As an added bonus, Ms. Atchley is a pleasure to work with-warm, friendly, a good listener and a lovely person. There is no question about recommending her for any renovation/remodel-she is by far, an outstanding contractor and we feel lucky to have had the opportunity to work with her.
ADC matches the proper technologies starting in the concept to prototype phase by incorporating the design parameters of a fully manufactured part. Cindy and her team always met my expectations on every project we worked together. Our students enter the program as early- to mid-career professionals and graduate as highly collaborative and experimental design leaders. Many stay in the Bay Area, working for leading design practices or for technology companies like Google and Airbnb, while others take their knowledge back home as leaders in their profession. Their year of immersive research and material exploration helps them make a positive impact at any scale, from workplaces and parklets to municipal agencies and vast urban territories.
The process of collecting data points of a surface to accurately represent an object in digital three-dimensional space. As points are collected, they cover an object’s surface creating a “point cloud” in the exact shape and size of the object. The point cloud can then be rendered into a mesh (.STL) where all the points are connected with lines to create a surface made up completely of triangles. For part inspection, analysis, reverse-engineering, design, historic/art preservation and more, 3D scanning is a quick, thorough and cost-effective method for capturing real-world objects in digital space. Each summer, the architecture programs host a 333 Studio, which invites three outside critics to work with students for three weeks in a lab-like environment.
Mr. Janin has led multiple projects for Sécheron from conception to completion. Currently Tony Janin is Area Sales Manager at Sécheron SA for the North American market for both Railway and Industrial applications. Mr. Janin’s area of knowledge includes Sécheron’s, Switchgear, Power Conversion, Rectifiers, Power Control and Monitoring Systems. "Pasadena is central to Southern California's impressive design and engineering talent pool, so we are very enthusiastic about General Motor's decision to locate their Advanced Design Center here," she said in a statement. "Pasadena's Art Center College of Design continues to produce top tier transportation designers. With the new location, GM will be in immediate proximity to both Art Center, Caltech and other top technology-based and design firms."

The investment also signals GM’s long-term commitment to maintain a physical presence in one of North America’s largest hubs for multidisciplinary design and cutting-edge innovation. The new campus, which sits on 8 acres, will expand GM’s capacity to support emerging business opportunities in areas of advanced technology, software integration and future mobility solutions. Leading medical equipment manufacturers have worked with ADC to produce CPR training devices, design and develop prototypes and manufacture adjustable prosthetic devices. This presentation discusses the different elements, applicable standards, and common industry trends used in dc and traction power applications. The objective of this presentation is to provide designers and specifiers with technical knowledge in DC applications used in traction applications and provide detailed insight into new product concepts used throughout the world. GM announces a more than $71 million investment to establish a new, nearly 149,000-square-foot campus in Pasadena, California, for GM’s Advanced Design Center operations, a move that will substantially increase the center’s capacity and create more jobs in the area.
